A church should be a spiritual home for its members and a sanctuary for the wider community.
Arise Church worked with Rexel's lighting design team and their electrical contractor to give their Petone centre a feeling of welcome, security and belonging.
The lighting designers used warm tones which are carried on from the facade into the foyer and communal area.
The lighting design team wanted the Centre’s glazed front wall to glow with warm light that would give a sense of warmth at night.
They achieved this effect with a combination of LED strip lighting on the façade and LED flat panels inside the entry space, as well as a feature glass pendant in the foyer, all with a warm white colour temperature. Further into the building they carried on the warm white light with dimmable OMS highbays in the auditorium that provide the house lighting and integrate with the stage lighting system. These highbays were a special order in warm white to avoid a clash of colour temperatures.
To maximise their energy savings LED lighting has been used throughout the Arise Centre. Where appropriate, luminaires have been integrated with daylight sensors and a lighting control system for even greater energy savings.
